A landmark Nordregio working paper published in September 2026 — 'Disability indicators for the Nordic Statistics Database' — provides the first systematic, comparable set of 17 disability-related indicators for the Nordic region, covering labour market access, education, health, and social participation. The labour market chapter reveals stark gaps: Denmark has the widest employment gap for people with severe disabilities at 54 percentage points, while Iceland's gap is the narrowest.
