A researched, source-verified map of Sweden's most recognized disability-inclusion employers, agencies, advocates, certifiers and award programmes — 6 categories, each with sources.

🇸🇪 Who's Leading Disability Inclusion in Sweden

This is one entry in InkludX's Inclusion Atlas — a country-by-country, segment-by-segment scan of the organizations across Europe genuinely recognized for their disability-inclusion employment work: an award won, a scaled program, or a policy fingerprint behind the claim, not just a mention of "inclusion" on a website. Sweden is one of InkludX's 5 launch markets.

Inclusive employers

  • Coop Sverige — Major grocery retailer/cooperative. Extended its partnership with Samhall in October 2025: about 2,500 Samhall employees work on assignments for Coop, covering cleaning in around 540 stores as well as warehouses, logistics units and offices. Source.
  • IKEA — Global furniture retailer. Supports Funki, which builds inclusive musical instruments designed for people with intellectual and other cognitive disabilities, as one of eleven entrepreneurs in the first cohort of its Everyone's Business social-entrepreneurship programme, launched in November 2025. Public agencies & welfare bodies

  • Samhall — State-owned company with more than 24,000 people working for it. Its mission is to create developing jobs for people with disabilities; everyone hired through Arbetsförmedlingen has some form of disability. It is funded through the state budget line "Lönebidrag och Samhall m.m.". Source · Budget.
  • Arbetsförmedlingen — Swedish Public Employment Service. Runs special measures for people with disabilities, including wage subsidies (lönebidrag) and supported employment (SIUS). A June 2025 Riksrevisionen audit (RiR 2025:20) found significant shortcomings — including long waits before a disability is identified and around SEK 2.6 billion of funding for special measures left unused in 2023. Source.
  • Myndigheten för delaktighet (MFD) — Swedish Agency for Participation. Tasked by the government in April 2025 with supporting municipalities and regions in implementing Sweden's disability policy, including distributing funds to municipalities for that work. Source.

NGOs & advocacy orgs

  • Funktionsrätt Sverige — Umbrella organisation of 53 disability member organisations. Campaigns for the right to work and for Arbetsförmedlingen to work for people with disabilities. Source.
  • Autism Sverige — Riksförbundet Autism & Aspergerförbundet. Publishes employer-facing guidance on including more autistic people in the workforce. Source.

Certification & standards bodies

  • Diversity Charter Sweden — Employer network and knowledge-sharing body. Offers a diversity/inclusion knowledge bank that explicitly covers disability. Source.
  • Funka — Digital-accessibility consultancy and one of the founders of IAAP, the international association for accessibility professionals. Launched the Funka Digital Inclusion Award in 2023, ahead of the EU Accessibility Act taking effect in 2025. Source · Award.

We did not find a formal third-party disability-inclusion certification in Sweden — these are the closest analogues.

Social enterprises & placement providers

  • Unicus (now part of auticon) — IT consultancy where you must be autistic to be employed; merged with auticon in 2023. Has recruited about 60 consultants since starting in Stockholm in 2017, with clients including Vattenfall, SEB, Postnord and Scania; won Stockholm's S:t Julianpriset in 2023. Source · Merger.
  • Matchedin AB — Company creating opportunities for people far from the labour market, through recruitment, consultant placement and job-coaching services. Won Stockholm's S:t Julianpriset in 2022 for its qualities as an employer of people with disabilities. Source.

Awards, media & recognition programs

  • S:t Julianpriset (City of Stockholm) — SEK 100,000 prize honoring work that includes people with disabilities in society. Past winners include Matchedin (2022), Unicus (2023) and, in 2024, Scandic Continental and Internationella enheten på Noa. Source.
  • Special Nest — Swedish web magazine covering neuropsychiatry. Written for professionals, families and people with disabilities themselves. Source.
  • Funka Digital Inclusion Award — Awarded to an e-commerce company and to an individual "champion" who has worked to increase digital accessibility at their workplace. First presented in October 2023. Source.

Every entry above was gathered via web research and then checked against its cited source in a separate verification pass; entries that didn't hold up were corrected or removed.
